Question 1

What is Kin?

Accepted Answer

Kin is a customer loyalty and customer-intelligence app for Zimbabwean businesses. It automatically builds customer profiles, purchase history and revenue insights from your point-of-sale data, and lets you reward customers with points, discounts and free products.

Question 2

Does Kin work with my point of sale?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Kin connects to your point-of-sale back office — Sales Intellect, SalesPlay and Keith Tech POS with an API key, Loyverse with a personal access token. Customers, visits, receipts and purchases sync automatically.

Question 3

How do customers earn loyalty points?

Accepted Answer

Customers earn points automatically when they buy — Kin adds points the moment a sale prints. They can redeem points for rewards like discounts, a free product or a free service using a code at the till.

Question 4

Is automated WhatsApp included in Plus?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Marketing is part of Plus: campaigns you send yourself, and Autopilot — messages that go out on their own, like a “we have missed you” to a customer who has not been in for 30 days — from the business’s own WhatsApp number. Kin registers that number for the business (a one-off setup) and messages are prepaid from the Kin dashboard, so Plus stays the only monthly charge.

Question 5

Is there a free trial?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every new business gets a free 7-day Plus trial with no card needed. After that you can stay on the free plan or upgrade to Plus for $8 a month (paid by EcoCash, InnBucks, Omari or Zimswitch via PayNow).

Question 6

What is the best customer loyalty app in Zimbabwe?

Accepted Answer

Kin is built specifically as a customer loyalty app for Zimbabwe: POS-driven customer profiles, points, rewards, visit incentives, automated WhatsApp (Autopilot) and PayNow payments (EcoCash, InnBucks, Omari, Zimswitch) for shops, restaurants, salons and services in Harare, Bulawayo and across Zimbabwe.

Question 7

How much does a loyalty program cost in Zimbabwe?

Accepted Answer

Kin starts free with customer intelligence, then Plus is $8 per month after a free 7-day trial — paid by EcoCash, InnBucks, Omari or Zimswitch via PayNow. A Custom setup ($350) is available for businesses that want a tailored build.

Question 8

Do customers need to download an app to collect loyalty points?

Accepted Answer

No. Customers open the Kin portal at kin.co.zw/portal in their phone browser, see points and rewards, and redeem for a till code (e.g. K7F3X9Q2) valid 7 days. The cashier validates the code in Kin. Business owners use the Kin Android app, a free download from kin.co.zw.
